Living Large on the Monterey Bay

I don't intend for this blog to become sort of a Facebook type venue with pictures of me diving into pools full of cash, hoisting up big fish dockside or hobnobbing with rich and powerful people, but I will take exception with this intention to share a photo of the wonderful Matsutake mushrooms I was given (and promptly consumed) yesterday.

Sauteéd in butter and paired with some albacore out of our ocean that was saved up in the freezer from the fall, it reminded me of the abundance of good food we have here on the Monterey Bay.  So much fresh fish in the ocean, good fruits and vegetables out of the fields, and yes, the tastiest mushrooms in the world in our forests.
